The Books of Innocence
One and only
That's my autograph book for my secondary school days.
Bcos everyone was using ready-bought autograph books, I decided to make a unique one for myself. The cartoon on the back cover was compiled from different places and traced into one picture. I spent quite a bit of time drawing the front cover with reference from the comic. He was my favorite character at that time (n still is in my top few manga yandaos list).
Functionality-wise, I could disintegrate the book and distribute the colored papers to different ppl at the same time, so the book wun get stuck at some slow-poke's ass. It was also to prevent the empty pages which happens with bound books when frens flip to any page they like n start scribbling.
I jus flipped thru it. Its damn funny when u start to recollect wat image u were portraying at that time, and the crap that ur frens wrote.
I got questions here.
Why everyone LOVE MY HAIRSTYLE?
I mean, its like, floffy and all, is really a disgrace when I looked at the pictures now. Only perhaps on good (seldom occur) haircut days, I get a decent boyish cut with layers and all.
WHERE GOT NICE??
I feel like puking.
Growl.
And hor... Almost every "letter" I had, there's bound to be either, 帅哥, yandao or cool. And the guys actually put, "I think u will look better with long hair, ur very short hair kinda destroy ur feminine image."
MWAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!
Guys.. 帅哥 is not I call myself one. Is the girls call me one.
So 帅?? (puke)
Maybe I'm the minute population of girls with short hair. Its machiam my trademark already. And my "slopecut" which a few like to brush their hands across to get the prickly feel. I can remember only 3 more girls with boyish haircut along the corridor. And that time, butches n lesbians were not that accepted yet. AND I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT ONE!!
Si nangs, my hair is long now, how, feminine already?
And, EVERY LETTER has basketball in it. Ya ya, I'm a 球痴. Basketball good wat, can skip boring physics for competitions.
And my 'O' level results were mainly a coincidence and I dun think I'm hardworking (AHHAAHAHAHHA the 3 teachers that wrote in my autograph book, u were WRONG!!). I'm definite abt it, since I'm distracting myself from my Psycho notes at this moment.
Everyone's writing their likes and dislikes, and a paragraph of comments for some, a photo if they feel like it, and maybe a song lyric. That was the trend at that time.
Jus that some people dun have color sense. Milky pastel peach pen on light backgrounds? I can barely read.
That's my sticker-filled profile page. Yup I still like Steve Kerr, still like Matt Damon, still like Owen, handwriting's still the same messy pattern.
Nothing's changed.
Except perhaps.. my hair?
And since I've already distracted myself, might as well do it somemore. I dug out my primary school autograph book from beneath a stack of exercise books in some ulu cupboard which I seldom open. (The secondary one is on the bookshelf jus next to my table. Very accessible).
I cant remember who some of them were. No photos, no paragraphs of comments. Jus bio-data, a lot of empty pages and A LOT OF FOLDED CORNERS!!! Nothing to write oso mus fold corner n write inside "nothing to write". That seems to be how bo liao we were as kids. (On fold:"Dun open har.." On inside:"Tell u dun open liao") MWAHHAHAHAH.
I suppose this autograph book signing thing is out of trend. With friendster n wat not, it seems like, "Eh write a testi for me lehh" is more commonly used than "Eh, sign my autograph book lehh".
For now, a testimonial for me anyone?
(sidetrack a para: I saw Ms Thng at the wake. Its either she shrunk or I've grown. When is she so short? And so thin? Mother of 2!??!?! Full-time housewife still.. hmm..)
